Summary:

Applied Controls worked with a local leading manufacturer of food snack products to improve their vision inspection of Best By print inspection.  The Cognex Grayscale Smart Camera Model IS8400M vision system was used for its small form factor size along with achieving the print inspection at the customer’s production rates while offering operator interface menus for vision setup and product changeover.

Solution:

The machine vision camera system was installed in multiple production lines. The original inspection process was performed by a production inspection person every so often per shift operation. This new process inspects all of the individual packages for proper printed information. This quality inspection is an important step at this stage in the process. Every package must be complete with proper information for traceability purposes.
